The Indian Creek Playground is located by the Indian Creek Trail. “This area was once inhabited by Native Americans in the region. Artifacts including arrowheads, have been discovered in this area. The playground elements represent tribe symbols and traditions throughout the United States.” Throughout the playground you will find little plaques that provide information about Native Americans and their culture.
About the playground
Indian Creek Playground is located about 25 minutes from Columbia, MD. You’ll come to the end of Seminole Street and the playground will be clearly visible in front of you. Take a left at that stop sign and you will see the small parking lot on the right hand side, just past the baseball field. It is clearly labeled.
As amazing as this all sounds, there is something you should know. There are no bathrooms! My little man was fine with watering one of the trees, but being pregnant myself, I found this a major con. Also, just a warning to watch little ones near the baseball field because I noticed broken glass (beer bottles) behind the fence on our way in from the parking lot.
In sum, if you are looking for a little adventure that includes playground and nature, this would be a great option for both toddlers and older kids.
