Hi there! I’m Loni, aka Mommy LoCo. Welcome to my blog!
It all started in 2011 when I received a message from a guy claiming to be a rocket scientist. As I recall, he had some cheesy pickup line, like “hey.” I couldn’t resist – I had to call him out on his bs claim. Well, turns out he was getting his PhD in physics and already had a BA in Astronomy and Physics. The following year he would be part of a team sending a rocket into the aurora to collect and analyze data. Hmmm I guess he wasn’t a liar so I figured I’d date him. I mean, at the ripe old age of 25, I wasn’t getting any younger.
In 2013 he told me he loved me, so I said yes (he wasn’t the most eloquent with his proposal, but after a few “I love yous,” I got the hint). We married in 2014 and wasted no time welcoming baby Co into our lives. All at the same time, my husband accepted a job offer in Maryland so I quit my job as a superhero (more commonly known as child protection worker), packed my bags, and followed my husband down the rabbit hole to Maryland.
After months of parent bootcamp and simultaneously exploring our new home land, I decided to create a blog where I could network with other parents to talk about this crazy journey they call parenting and life in HoCo.
